OOM: Calling Brennan

Hannah spends the last few days of 2008 doing a lot of thinking.

And she spends them at her mother's house.

Brennan catches the phone on the second ring, on her way around the bar separating her kitchen from the living room.

"The cinnamon is in the cabinet on the left, Dad," she says, turning down the heat under one of the pots on the stove.

Max has come over for a late lunch, and has effectively taken over the kitchen.

"Hello?" she says into the receiver.
