I can't help but agree with you Trev, I mean some of this "I'd be better off if I lived..." talk you can chalk up to a hindsight bias, I mean most people don't think that they would be serfs or anything like that, however I just love the idea of living in a time where all those capitalistic assholes couldn't buy their way into immortality and would be subject to the same grtotesque dig-like death as the rest of us!
