Staying in tonight, attempting to write on Derrida and in reality watching The Goonies, possibly the best movie ever made. I always felt so cheated, growing up in a nearly land-locked state, hours from the coast, because I never had the opportunity to find a pirate ship at the end of an underground tunnel full of traps set by a cunning pirate

Holy crap, I looove Derrida. I spent the first two years of Antioch studying post-structuralist philosophy with an emphasis on gender theory and linguistics. Talking about textual marginalization makes me tingly :P

I think I'm too much of a materialist to really like his theories although I can see the genius of them. It's frustrating trying to write a critique of him though because essentially the answer to any criticism is just "Nuh-uhhh, you're still in the system!"
