I feel sick

So the IRS emptied all of my mom's bank accounts, leaving her absolutely broke. She's still recovering from her shoulder injuries from years ago (which keep flaring up), and only has part-time work, barely enough to cover food and gas, much less rent, medical bills, & car payments. My dad hasn't paid support in over a year, and probably never ( Read more... )

=(

*big hug from the midwest*

I wish I knew what to say to help. :(
Maybe save a little money from your job(s)/whatever you do and give some to her each week/month? IDK. >_<; I wish I could be of more help! *hugs*

That's what I hope to do! I'm going to graduate next Spring, and if I can find a decent job, I'm going to do whatever I can to help. But I also have to save for grad school. Blurrrggh. Luckily I'm very very good and living on almost nothing, so if I work really hard I bet I can at least make some contribution. I just don't want her to have to leave California, where she's lived for about 30 years. :( She's originally from Nebraska, and it's looking more and more like she'll have to move back there, since it really is VASTLY cheaper. But at least she'd be able to live :(

We don't really know where this will go yet, so I'm just hoping that she'll be able to negotiate something with the IRS. They haven't gone after her pension yet, and if she can save that, she would have something to fall back on. We'll just have to see where this goes, and hope for the best.

And thank you for the kind thoughts! Nothing anyone can do right now, I just wanted to vent.

I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like it must be so difficult and frustrating for you to deal with. If there's anything I can do to help, I hope you'll let me know. :CC

Ahhh thank you! Right now there's not much anyone can do, but the support really helps, so thank you. :) We'll do the best we can, and see where this goes. If she can keep them from going after her pension, and negotiate some kind of reduced payment, she might be okay. Right now it's just a matter of waiting to see what happens. *crosses fingers*
