When Fortuna's wheel runs over your toes

I have a resolution: I have to update this journal once a week. I'm inept at time management and having a goal like this can be a sort of step towards improvement. Why yes I am using a social networking site to improve skill that I would need for a career. It's certainly amazing how much people rely on the internet. At least I'm trying to use it ( Read more... )

You are like Apollo. You have over-exerted your chords of steel.

I would love to offer some sympathy but seeing as it's about 12:20am I'll just say AHHH TRIG AHHH. ):

Oh my god, I totally have the exact same problems as you re: socialising. I stand around in corners during parties and gatherings playing solitaire on my cell phone until I decide it's time for me to announce I have to go home because I have something else to do!! I have decided I am only interesting for the first fifteen minutes anyone knows me, and after we've gotten through the necessary "so which school are you from and what are you going to study in college" conversation I become an instant citizen of Boringsville.

GOOD LUCK FOR THAT TRIG TEST.

And are you an opera singer!! That is so awesome; I never knew.

My phone has no games. ;_; So I just read old text messages and end up laughing to myself. If anyone actually noticed that I was doing that they would think I'm insane.

THANK YOU! I'LL DO MY BEST!

It never really comes up in conversations. ^^; But my voice is really young (in opera terms) but I'd really like to be the kind of singer that gets to sing in rich people's houses. It's such a small audience so I don't have to be nervous. But it's hard to find those who like opera nowadays.

How long have you been singing? I can't say I know how to appreciate opera per se, but I do listen to it sometimes when I study music theory, so that counts for something, right *______* Which type of voice are you?

Not very long, Almost two years now.
I have a pretty vague definition of appreciation. As long as you don't think that it's easy and you understand that there is a lot of effort put into it then that's what I call appreciation.
I'm a Mezzo-Soprano. I have a very big range so if I wanted to I can sing some soprano pieces, but unfortunately (or fortunately in some cases) my voice is very big and I need to work on having better control over it before I can do anything Soprano.
Can you read sheet music? If you can, try to find a copy of Danza Danza by Francesco Durante. It's bloody insane. It doesn't leave any room for sufficient breaths, it's insanely fast and there are sudden changes in dynamics and a very sudden switch from a high note to a very low note. But it's a beautiful song. That's what I sang at my last music festival (along with a piece by Mozart).
