NaNoWriMo

I got an email today from the coordinator of the Indianapolis NaNoWriMo group. 19 days until November, which is National Novel Writing Month for those of you who have not heard of NaNoWriMo. I'm attempting, again, participate this year. 50,000 words in a month. I think I can do it, I know I can if I keep at it. I did fairly well at the start

I like idea #1. It caught and kept my attention the most, although, I see the second one almost as a young reader book.

I like ideas 2 and 3. I think they are cute. You're right about 2, it would probably be better as a serial. So I guess my vote goes for idea 3.

Oh and if I do it this year, my idea is "the journal of a NaNoWriMo participant." It's a kinda cheesey idea. But it would be journal entries from October 31 through December 1. They would cover thoughts about setting, characters, frustration over writer's block and resisting the urge to edit. I do have actual characters that I'm going to write up character sketches for but I'm not going to write the novel being discussed.
