And by now i think Sherlock has convinced Lestrade that his wife is a serial adulterer and she has move out, so he is free and alone, missing the kids.

About Mycroft there is another problem appart from the meddling and the shadow.

They are 7 years appart and in england at the age of 11 is the time when you got to bording school and we know Mycroft went to Eaton almost for sure, so Sherlock and Mycroft have no bonding whatsoever, because they only see each other for holidays. Not the same with Percy in your story because Percy is 14 years younger than Mycroft so he must like a father figure in a sense and Mycroft was in Uni when he was able to notice him, so a lot more close than a bording school, and they get a more close relationship.

Sherlock was alone all his life, except for Percy i supose, but then came Mycroft and stole Percy from him so really what Sherlock would like at all about Mycroft?

Also l think Percy also went to a bording school. Sherlock apparently not,in BBC, and went early to uni.
