I feel for you, miss. It was like that for me when I came to the US for grad school. My interests were so different from the others from my country that I ended up going off to explore by myself most of the time. (I went all around the US by myself one summer! now that I look back on it, eeks!XD) It's not something that I'd recommend for everybody, but you seem to have your head screwed on straight, plus you speak the language and can blend into the local population reasonably well. Yes, it's tough to be alone, but you don't have to be miss out on the charms of a foreign land just because you're the only one who wants to experience them.

Of course you'll need to always make sure someone - your family, at least - knows where you're going, plus keep a fully charged cellphone on you, and be extra careful to keep your wits about you (that means no alcohol - but that shouldn't be a problem for you). And when you show off pictures of the lovely places you went to, maybe your roomies will want to go with you next time.:) Just a thought...

yeah... i'm going to go with that. Steffi invites me to go places a lot ^_^ i adore her - shes really nice

I got really down last night but i saw one of my newer friends (american no less) and we're off to frankfurt on friday ^_^ and saturday we might head back to freiburg. so i'm feeling a little happier

Just because they want to get smashed every night and go to Micky D's everyday, doesn't mean you have to. You're only gonna be there until Christmas. Eat your 'hammer', drink your hot chocolate, visit your fairy-tale castle. Enjoy the country while you're there because this may be your only shot. And screw the rest of them.
