John Watson had felt terror before, but not like this.
There he was surrounded by white lights and chimpanzees as only companions for his terror. Sherlock was unavailable and he was trapped in the white light.
He and the primates where not alone, there was something lurking around for a piece of them, he could hear him roar while his heart was in his throat. He could feel how the animal, the hound felt powerful because John smell of pure terror, but he could only hide in a caged with the others primates which were crying and banging their prison as his heart was banging his prison of flesh.
John had feel fear before, in the war, in the sand, in the face of a dying man of boy in his hands. But nothing like this, nothing so primal like animal fear.
