ahh great ending! Really lovely revisiting and tying up of relationships, and of course House wasn't dead - I liked that line about a good man only lying when he doesn't know the truth. I liked how Sherrinford was actually a kindly father to Sherlock and the little flashbacks - the one about Stacey choked me up a wee bit.
Well done, I've really enjoyed this fic, thanks for writing!

Replying to this message seems to be jinxed as not only did my email die at Christmas and I forgot to check back here, but LJ seems to have eaten my reply twice.

Anyway, thank you very much for sticking with the story for so long and for being such a faithful commentator! I'm glad you enjoyed the ending after all that. :)

lol LJ has been a bit temperamental lately! It's definitely been my pleasure reading along with this story, it's been really enjoyable and so in tune with the show that I believe it could happen (wishful thinking). Thanks for writing it!

Loved the way House's "death" tied in with this story and how it made even more of a connection between House and Sherlock. Also loved Blythe being there and her "bonding moment" with Sherlock. :-)

Thank you very much and apologies for the late reply, I didn't get the notification because my email provider died and then I forgot to check back after Christmas.

I couldn't believe my luck when I heard that House faked his death in the series finale while I was still writing this and gradually catching up with House. Him going off with Wilson was a perfect tie-in to the themes in my story about Sherlock being lonely without John.

Glad you liked Blythe. In the end, it was a story about family and though I resisted the temptation to bring in The Child, it made sense that Sherlock should attend the funeral and meet his grandmother. Now I'm imagining that Blythe's lover was also Martin Crieff's (from Cabin Pressure) grandfather. Sherlock would be horrified.
