Y'know, I don't usually like tutorials that involve selective colouring, but this is actually really nice. I love the colours in the final icon.

my friend was having trouble with your tutorial so i tried it too. Each time I did it (one with my own picture and then your first picture) I did not get the same results as you.

After following your tut, your original picture was too bright-not at all what you showed. Explain please.
