He thought for a moment that he was seeing things but honestly...he had never been one for hallucinations. It was real. He wove his way through the crowd, shocked and wide eyed, he would've known her form anywhere. They'd been accomplices afterall. He reached out to grab for her hand then, the pandemonium of the crowd swallowing up anything he would've said, she needed to know and he needed the reassurance.

"C.C.?" he posed her name as a question, but he couldn't be mistaken, then that left the question of how she'd arrived here...but then that could come later.

He had never meant to completely disappear. Much less was he certain of his abilities now that he had obtained. He frowned a little with that nagging feeling that certainly there was more to come. Magic existed here and no good could come of that knowledge.

C.C. stopped. For a split second, she heard her name. That name that was not her name, but it was more of her name than anyone else's; it rang clear through the low hum of the crowd, and seconds later, she felt the brush of someone's fingers against her palm. Although she knew better, the girl turned, and those gold eyes grew wide.

She once thought this place as her past come to haunt her. And with him standing in front of her, she now knew that it was.

She turned slowly, waiting for the crowd to thin around her so she could take a good look at his face without anyone getting in her way. It was as if she felt the boy would disappear if that happened. She too had heard that magic existed in these parts. And though she could never bring herself to believe such ludicrous claims--she had seen so much and knew enough to know that magic couldn't exist--C.C suspended her disbelief long enough to muster up the effort to believe.

"...Lelouch?"

"Yes." he replied, glancing around a moment before drawing her to the side of the cobblestone street so he could get a good look at her. He felt a flood of relief as he watched her face. It was her. Thank whatever higher power had sent him here.

"I did not expect to find you here but I cannot deny I am glad of it." he stated calmly but his expression told of his worry, "Have you a place to stay? If not I can accommodate you. It is not safe to speak out in the open here."

He assumed that she wouldn't. She was more of a wanderer than someone who preferred to stay in one place. He felt a tinge of anxiousness and uncertainty, while he had question, he was certain she had plenty more.
