It was a clear day in the shining white city of Caelistis and the Emperor had stood with open arms as he greated the people from atop the white citadel. He promised a new dream, new hope and way of life that had been inspired by the Goddess meant to lead the people to redemption. With that promise he also offered a new potion, one meant to heal the ( Read more... )

"Yes, my lord." Sebastian's smirk was highly amused at all of the excitement. The whole thing smelled of a farce. The fact that the king promoted this magical medicine was only even more suspicious, but the poor pitiful people of this place could not see any trick. They only saw the treat.

It would be their downfall. Soon, very soon.

The demon made his way to the stall, returning some time later with the vial of the concoction. Sebastian set it into his little lord's palm, arching a fine eyebrow. "So then, Young Master, what do you intend to do with this sample?"

The butler followed after him, a small smirk perched over his lips. "Yes, my lord." It would be interesting to see what exactly was in this concoction...it could not be possible that every single ailment of the public was cured just by taking a sip of this potion.

And if it did, and it was possible...well, they would cross that bridge when they came to it.

As for coming to the gathering early, he already has gotten a small vial in his hands. Vincent was not going to drink it now. There is something quite strange with this, looking at the purple liquid swished around in the vial. Listening to the repeats of the praise for the dear Emperor, he wonders exactly why giving this out now?

Too much has already happened. He had no need of hiding himself today, letting the slight breeze blow in his short hair. Everything comes with reason. There is an answer to everything, even the impossible. He wishes to speak with the Emperor himself, but he is too busy today. Maybe tomorrow....or soon.

He turned to look down at his son, putting the vial into his pocket to study it later. It is true that his health had been poor, but he doesn't want to stay in bed always. Vincent was never weak, even though his son is protecting him from anything.

"Just came to see what is all the commotion I heard." He lightly said, smiling at his child.

Between him and Ciel, they are almost alike except have different qualities in them. He was never that demanding.

The cambion was running down his list of daily chores. Chopping wood, maintaining the house and now, of course, he had shopping to do. By the huge crowd gathered and the imobility to wiggle his way through the crowd where the medication was being sold.

He never had believed in that what was preached was really the intention of the goddess. It was a mere comfort food in the form of thought. Pathetic intentions formed by pathetic preachers.

His elbow had been knocked by a child so eager to obtain the potion. Wincing in pain, apologizing as he carried on. Driskell checked his changepurse to see if any of the money had been taken.

"..." He hadn't been a pick pocket so, all the cambion had to do now was manage his way over to the nearest apple selling merchant.

David was one of the more eager people to obtain some of the tonic. After all, he had patients to attend to, patients who couldn't afford some of the more heavy prices of the city doctors. Poor people, elderly people...and the street children, those who were swallowed up by the grandeur of the capital's buildings, who no one paid a second thought ( ... )

A clergyman, who recognized that the man was indeed recently aiding the people of Caelistis, took it upon himself to ensure the doctor had all the tonics he would need to dispurse to his patients.

"The goddess prays for you to bring health back to Caelistis," he assured the other, grasping his hands to show his gratitude to the other, "One dose per person shall do the trick. The city is already looking all the livelier!"

The Emperor continued to openly feed the crowd to the products, announcing that all dreaded illness would soon be cured. How the world would be free finally from disease with the stride of this new tonic! More clergymen were spread about handing off as much as required, sometimes by the box fulls, pending on occupation and family size.

"Everyone is here for a reason," he agreed. "The Emperor is quite generous, giving such a gift to his people freely. Where I come from, most leaders lock themselves away from the public entirely."

He thought for a moment, then laughed. "With this tonic going around, I might have to look for another job!"

"Yes, indeed!" He smiled fondly, of course, he was already fond of him having only known him for a short amount of time, "May you do her work. Extollis Diamatias! My son this shall be your work! You are at the Goddess's hand now!"

Of course, the church was not completely aware of everything, but they did their best to keep up with such things. They loved their people and the one whom bestowed their souls upon the world. All was meant to bring goodness and peace. That was what they believed. Impurity could be cured. Surely with this it would be indeed cured.

Nia was near the apple stand looking on to watch the crowd curiously. She really hadn't seen so much hustle like this before over a small vial. She laced her hands together as she thought of the wonders of how important this vial must be. "It certainly does look to be quiet an item to obtain."
