Daniel Schorr has died at age 93.

He was one of my heroes. Cantakerous troublemaker that he was, he seems to have done what was right to keep the public informed, especially of government misdeeds, regardless of the cost to himself.

I'll miss your voice on Saturday mornings with Scott Simon, Mr. Schorr. But you know, 93 isn't such a bad run, ( Read more... )

Another giant has fallen. He ranks up there with Walter Cronkite as one of those journalists who told us like it was.

One of the last of the Real Journalists, as opposed to the smiley-happy-pretty celebrity-gossip-readers and the hellfire-preachers-with-a-press-card we get nowadays. They just don't make 'em like that anymore.
