Just out of curiosity, how do Chaucer, Spenser, and Donne wind up in the same class when it's just them? I can see Chaucer and Spenser, but Donne seems an outlier.
This is one of the things we'll be discussing in our teaching practicum, but it is an intro English class in 2 parts. The class is called Major English Poets, so the first semester is Chaucer, Spenser, and a Renaissance lyric poet, and the spring is Milton, Pope, Wordsworth, and a modern poet. Yale offers two types of advanced intro courses - great books and major authors. I'm affiliated with an authors class.
