And as someone that has spent a good portion of my life trying to rile up people with jargon and (especially) propaganda, I'd like to remind you that propaganda can be used for good too. This is mostly important for those people who can't make up their minds, but instead go with whoever they think has the most support. Propaganda can tilt that balance by changing perception, for good or ill. These people who don't think for themselves make up a large percent of the population and are therefore important to convince on any issue; though, they are quite annoying.
