Okay, (deep breath) here we go: I have no idea what is to be done with this situation. As a preface to this statement, I must say that having spent some time in the "deep" middle east, in some of the countries in question, I cannot deny that there are two sides to every story. I respect their side

No scathing replies here, especially since you've seen more of the world than most of us, Biscuit. I understand why the offense, but find the response a bit much. As an uninformed baked good, that's where I stand. *nods*

I know, it was a bit dramatic, I guess i'm one of those people who believes in the infinite good that lies within the human soul, and it makes me sad and angry sometimes when people who's similarities outweigh their differences 100 to 1 chose to turn a blind eye and just pick a fight. *Nods in response*

No scathing replies here either (and who is about to devote her life to the Middle East?). Oy. I pretty much agree. On the one hand, knowing that it is absolutely sacriligious to make an image of Mohammed (or Jesus or Moses, byt the way,since they are also considered prophets), I think maybe some sort of apology or conciliatory speech may have been due. But then there's the whole free speech, separation of church and state thing. I don't think there's really a good answer. This my desire to try and make us understand each other, so crap like this doesn't happen. On the other hand, the Muslims hurting Danes belong in pretty much the same category as the abortion-doctor-murdering Christians, in that they are a small majority that kind of freaks out the rest of the group. See what I'm about to post for vaguely related thoughts. Again, I say oy. Oy vey.
