When do numbers start to lose meaning?

It started with one or two thousand, then it broke ten thousand, and now it's 32,477 and still counting.  Really, though, all you need to see is this to get a sense of the magnitude of destruction and grief that permeates Sichuan and China.  What do you do when your entire city is reduced to piles of rubble and your only teenage child is buried

God this is terrible. Do you have family or friends in the area?? My boss is from that province and he was frantically calling his relatives last week-- they were ok thankfully. I logged on, made a donation, because you posted this here.

yay thanks for donating. i'm glad to hear that this post was useful. :) Thankfully, I don't have any family/friends in the area, but I definitely did a mental check when I heard about the quake...
