Very cool. How many shows have you seen now? I've been an Ani-head and a Ben-head (Ben Folds Five), and have been to 4 shows in 4 days, but I don't think I've topped 20 total for either of them. Where are you at with Bruce? I have a feeling you've got me beat:)
Even though I started back in '78 when I was 17, this was only my 10th Bruce show. There were a few years in there where I was so focused on the "women's music" movement that I ignored a lot of other things, and a lot of years in there when I just didn't have the money to travel for shows, even to Indianapolis (and this boy don't play Bloomington).
I'm making up for lost time though. 4 shows in 2008, 3 so far in 2009. :D
Wow, I'm surprised that's it; it seems like you go a lot. It was easy for me to rack up the shows, because Ben Folds and Ani were both collegetown acts, so they'd come through Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Geneseo and then Ithaca -- and Ani would hit that loop once on the way out of Buffalo and once on the way back. And they were cheap. And I had no responsibilities. Those were the days!
I'll have to add up whether I've seen Indigo Girls more than I have Bruce. I think I've probably seen them about a dozen times, maybe? I've seen Carrie Newcomer a huge amount of times too, but she plays a free concert in the park every summer plus I usually see her at least one other time every year.
Only for Bruce do I get on planes and pay for hotel rooms though.
You don't pay for hotel rooms for cheap musicians.
