Adversity

Last night I was on a friends porch smoking and I see a guy on the sidewalk and hear other guys behind him. No big deal, its midnight and we live in a college town. Then I hear my car crying out in anger (she honks five times fast if you try to fuck with her and her alarm is on.) Call the non-emergency number of your local Police Department and inform them of the harassing behavior. Disturbing your property and flipping you the bird are acts of harassment and you can take measures to make sure the offenders are punished for it.

Just a thought if the crap continues, as you have the right to feel safe and un-pestered by idiots.

I hope the dog gets used to you... I used to work for a woman who had 3 dogs, and the office was in the downstairs section of her home, which meant I had to enter through the upstairs front door, then go downstairs, all without her even knowing I was there yet. But the dogs always knew, and even after a year working there every day for 8 hours a day (and going on walks with them, and feeding them and petting them) they never did get over trying to keep me out of their house when I arrived in the morning. BIG, angry seeming dogs are intimidating no matter how you slice it.

After a few years here we visited California again. One thing that really struck me on that trip was how willing Americans are to profess political and social opinions publicly, such as on their bumpers. It just isn't done here, and it would actually be viewed as quite rude - I don't ask your politics and you don't ask mine, until you know me.

I'm not advocating that you remove your stickers. I had a few torn off too. Also, I hate frat boys.

Yes, yes, this is what makes me an American. I have no qualms speaking my mind. And I enjoy clever witticisms. This does not mean I am crass, or would not fit in to the English society. Hell, I grew up in an English society. But I'm still an American damnit!
