we all are... the sensation of a touch has to travel... so even if its .000000000009 miliseconds, it's still the past.
light travels, sound travels...electricity travels (which is what our nervous system is based on anyway)
I think that it's just that our conscious awareness doesn't break things down into nanoseconds because 99.9999999999999999999999999% of the time that's not enough of a difference that our survival instinct would kick in anyway....
we're accustomed to light traveling faster than sound.
is that .00000000001 second going to give you an advantage?

In swarms of people, whether in an emergency situation or not, it's almost always advantageous to be able to see above the sea of people.
While we live in a short people's world the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages in my opinion.
