the Englishman is dead. i got a letter today from his mother in response to the new year's card i sent (just in time for lunar new year, since again with me being a loser). he died November 2, while I was in Thailand. which sent me looking through my email to figure out when the last time was that i wrote to him, wondering if he even got it.
