I'm on an oldies kick - hence the Dean & Jean. If you've never heard this song, try to - it's total fluff, but in a transporting kind of way. Totally 1950's beach party goodness.
lugonn Pretty much updated on my behalf - but here's some more details. I left Pride in early August for a job opportunity with the Special Events office of the City. It was a

I'm glad you've potentially found a place to explore your spirituality in the Metropolitan CC folks. They're pretty awesome, from my very limited encounters with them.

I'm really glad to have found the MCC. I've been without a spiritual home since leaving The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg (by necessity of moving to Toronto.)
The UU church here never appealed, don't know why, it just never grabbed me and it is entirely inconvenient to get to.
I was wary of the MCC, because I had been told that it was capitol "C" Christian. Thankfully I made a friend who goes and demystified it for me. It's definitely a Christian church, but it's not an "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life" Christianity. It's more a "I am A way, A truth, A life" Christianity - which is important to me.
I'm still stymied though by why there is seemingly no relationship between the SCM and the MCC. MCC Toronto at the very least is a very progressive, justice centred Christian Church, which doesn't seem to have much for youth in University. The SCM would be a logical place for these young people to graduate to.

This isn't the final stop in your career path. You have other things to do and other places where you might do it. There were *numerous* reasons why leaving Pride at that time made sense. Do you really miss the full-time Crazy that much?
The extra money and more relaxed schedule have also made a difference in your life. Just imagine how brutal it would be if you were saddled with all of the Pride Drama when your niece was born. The new job allows you to be the Auntie you want to be. Sure, there are reasons to regret that some things went in a bad direction, but I still feel that you made a good choice for this stage of your life, and if the job really isn't what you want, then you can move into something even better in the next chapter.
