Well, this is the week we find out about layoffs. Over the past three weeks our entire HR staff has had to reapply for a limited number of positions. The whole process has been quite interesting. First, we were told they are transforming the HR department across all of North America. Then, we were informed whether or not we were considered slotted

wow...what an awfully arbitrary sounding way of doing things. I'd like at least the illusion that I would be evaluated on what I've been able to accomplish day to day instead of the nagging notion that one is combing the HR department for 3rd generation nieces and nephews.
