Granted, Canadian money may not be worth quite as much as its US counterpart, but it's so much prettier :P
I believe 30 million of these were produced in total as a tribute to Veterans' Day (or Remembrance Day as it's known up here). And here's the interesting part--they aren't distributed through The Royal Canadian mint, nor banks--you get them at the Tim Hortons coffee and donut chain! I'm serious; I guess they figured that there are so many Tim Hortons in Canada that it was surely the best way to get the new coin out to as many people as possible.
