"A woman's beauty is a treasure beyond price."

Part of the last line in a novel I read for an English class... and it's gnawing at me...

To the few who read my LJ... what do you suppose this means? I know it might help more if you'd read the book, but perhaps that's not entirely necessary... And yes, I have my own thoughts on the meaning, but I'm curious to know what others think of it first

I see it as something to be weary of. A woman's beauty has launched wars, mended countries, Weakened some of the greatest and most powerful men in the world. It is a treasure because it is a powerful thing. We must take it and protect it for what it's worth. Pandora's box was 'beautiful' and look at the ugliness that was inside. Even a woman in her most desperate hours is still a beautiful thing to see.
Eh, I gave it a shot.
