today my friend explained to me a theory called "pain localization" while he pinched himself hard on the arm. the theory states that if you're feeling pain over a wide area, like an ache (migraine, back ache, broken bone, pulled muscle, etc), and you "localize" the pain by pinpointing it intensely to one area, that your overall suffering ( Read more... )

That dog should be used in hostage negotiations: very disarming. Have you tried a flathead screwdriver to release the door from the jamb? Here's a quick link to someone else in your boat:

I'd be interested in the bracelet. Just saying. We'll do a whiskey/hemp trade-off...

Yes, it's a type of 'trigger point release' technique, once commonly used by osteopathic physicians.

Emotional pain is the hardest to bear...IDK about shooting the dog.

Sounds like you've made it a mission to help your Mom enjoy life as much as possible until it's her time. I admire the hell out of you for that, it can't be easy.

Seriously, I could fix your doorknob, I just live halfway across America. LOL

And...I'd LOVE a hemp bracelet:-)

IT'S STILL BROKEN. i can't get in or out of my own house. I've been going out the back door and over a fence. it's the most ridiculous fucking thing.

That Damn Door neonlotus1 April 30 2011, 06:38:00 UTC
Please Gmail me photos of the fucked up door, closeups if you can, front knob, back knob, or where it's supposed to be, and also the narrow part of the door where the round and slanted looking thing is supposed to stick out when you turn the knob. When I get your photos, I'll do my best to walk you through the replacement, with illustrations. And send that landlord's ass a bill for what a carpenter would charge!
That's just preposterous to have to tolerate.

pain localization sounds like a load of crap to me. when i have a headache or joint pain, i cannot focus on that single pinpoint area....all im thinking is i am in PAIN. WHERE'S THE VICODIN? WHY ISN'T THE PLAQUENIL WORKING? But maybe if I had like, a better mind, it would work, idk.

As for your mom, so long as it helps her, I think it's all good :)

&& aww at the doggy.

and hemp bracelets sound awesome,
i want one!

I didn't know what he was going on about at first, honestly. i, myself, tend to lean towards DRUGDRUGDRUGS when i'm in a big owie, too.

you'll totally get a bracelet.

*le gasp* That thing is so cute I want to squeeze it until it's head pops off. but not really.
