The Birthday Present
(a Paire drabble)
The boy saw his present. He smiled and run to it, because he was happy. For the first time in his life, he was happy. Because it was her. He smiled and took her in his arms, because he had to realize she was real. She didn't smile, didn't cry even. She just hugged him back, because she knew this moment wouldn't last forever.
... and she was right.
It was only the day and the boy.
It was the present she wanted to give it to him.
It was something she didn't do it, because she... was his present.
Her eyes and her touch was everything he had ever wanted and he was happy. For the first time in his life, he felt complete. That was more than any present. That was stronger than the life itself. That was her and him just standing there and giving the comfort to each other.
It didn't matter it was forbidden.
It didn't matter it had to end soon.
They just stayed there, under the pouring rain, soaking through their clothes. The drops ran down their faces, but it didn't matter. Because she was his present and he was willing to keep her.
"I love you!" she finally give him his real present.
"I love you too." he accepted it.
Only words... but meant the world to them.
Only words... but Peter and Claire were finally accepting them.
"Happy birthday, Peter!"
