So my trip was fun. We didn't do too much touristy stuff (no architectural tours or museums...*sigh*), but when we couldn't find the movie theater we wanted to go too until we were too late for the movie, we went to Navy Pier and had lots of fun on the ferris wheel. Going away is always hard, and this is certainly a harder place to leave than where I grew up. But it's good that you're leaving at the age you're leaving, from a smallish city to a very big one, in a different part of the country. And you know people there, so it won't be that hard. I'm glad it was a good trip!
