Avengers: Endgame aka Steve

This post contains massive SPOILERS regarding Steve's arc.

My experience of seeing Endgame was sitting through nearly 3 hours only to be shocked by the last few minutes. What the hell did they do to Steve? He's completely OOC here! I don't believe he'd go back in time just for Peggy.

She's moved on and had a full life. Are we supposed to believe he timed his arrival for after her husband's death? Peggy Carter is not some consolation prize. She's lived her life, had a husband and children, and a successful career at Shield.

Even Steve had moved on by his own admission and acclimatized to the modern era. I can't believe for a second he'd go back to the past and do nothing what with Hydra hiding in Shield, Bucky being tortured and used as a weapon, and ignore all that to have a merry life with Peggy!

The whole thing is so embarrassing and cringe-worthy. Like Sharon wanting to kiss her deceased aunt's love interest.

And how did Steve grow old anyways? He has the super soldier serum.

*sighs*
Fans of Tony Stark must be happy. He really got the best character arc, screen time, and ending. The second best would be Natasha, Clint, and Bruce to some extent.

Steve went completely OOC and his character arc was butchered. If the goal was to make him strictly heterosexual or "retire" him because Chris Evans' contract ended, there are better ways to do this. Giving the title of Captain America to Sam could have been done in a more voluntary way as well; the way it's presented in Endgame makes it look as if there was no choice except for Sam.

I won't even go into Bucky's representation in this movie. He just wasn't there. Are we supposed to believe Steve cried for everybody and tried to bring them back, yet he didn't spare one thought for Bucky? Really? Really?

To borrow military slang, Steve and Bucky's story went FUBAR after this movie.

Yes, I'm angry. I can't remember being this disappointed and pissed about fandom stuff in years so the movie succeeded in something at least.

wtf!, grumpy, marvel_cinematic_universe, captain america film, movie review
