Hi. Please note: fully appreciating this entry will involve watching an McDonald's advert from 20 years ago multiple times. If this is not your cup of tea (now there's a foreshadowing), then you might wish to take your leave.

It all restarted in June 2008 during an online chat with myatt and robinjb, when Matt found and posted a link to an advert that we all ( Read more... )

I'd never seen this advert before, but I hope you realize that now I'm going to be hearing that voice every time I see a sentence constructed "A ___ for my ___" as well!

If I can just sidestep the point of this post for a minute - Spatz! :) I remember that very well, and loved it when I first discovered it on morning television - I'm not sure whether it would hold up in the same way now, but there's always Youtube to find out. I think that it came at the stage when I was just discovering that live-action programmes weren't just for people above my age group, and there wasn't really anything else like it at the time.

Oddly enough, it was also the first time that I remember discovering that character/actor disconnect in seeing someone that I knew from somewhere else - in my case it was Katy Murphy, who I recognized from Mike and Angelo (which I hadn't realized had been made by the same group of people).

Excellent, another Spatz fan. :) I think it's stood the test of time, but having flown the flag for it online for 9 years now, I'm liable to be biased! Katy Murphy signed my guestbook earlier this year, but much as I'd like to follow it up, she didn't leave an email address.

Did you watch Lee Pressman & Grant Cathro's other big CITV show, T-Bag? The resounding success of its DVD campaign raises hopes that one day, Spatz might just follow.
