So today I went for my video game interview!
It went well, I think! They really didn't ask much, just stuff like how long I worked at my last job, and things. They asked if I was a gamer. Ahaha, yes. >.>; Asked which systems I had. Was a bit heavy on handhelds, but, eh, assured them I've played PS3 and 360 at least, anyway. I forgot to mention Eilia is thinking of getting a 360 and I'm probably going to get a PS3... uh... one of these days. But ah well. Also asked if I followed game news, and I said kinda / more or less. Which... is... true? Ish. Did not mention most of the stuff I followed was FF-related, but... it's not like I don't look at anything else, anyway.
I think they're pretty impressed with me? Well. Uh. Apparently I'm one of two people with the proper work experience, and the other one lives really far away.
...Plus they have two spots available anyway. I'd say my chances are pretty good. I just hope I can consolidate it with my current job without current one being mad at me, but... I'm kinda tired of this one, honestly. :\ I hate cleaning the storage room. I hate it, hate it. It's so boring I'm going to go crazy. Blargh.
Anyway, they'll let me know on Monday.
And then Eilia and I went shopping after! I was going to get a nice, cheap sundress or something, but ended up buying a lot of clothes. Oops...
We wandered around for a bit with nothing I liked, and then passed by American Eagle. I don't usually shop here, and things were way too expensive for me, but saw a cute fluffy white skirt on clearance for $15, so I got that. And then the person told me all clearance was a further 30% off today, so I ended up getting a bag too. XD; It's similar to the one I have, but bigger, which I was kinda looking for, since I couldn't really fit everything into mine all the time. I can barely stuff a clipboard in, and can't put a bigger sketchbook in at all. So this would be nice. And, I mean, I couldn't even find a bag this style I liked at all, and now there's one for $25 and 30% off. :DD Hurrah.
Went to Suzy Shier, didn't actually buy anything. There was a shirt I liked, which I tried on, but it was, uh. Too tight around boobs. I guess I'm kinda flattered? XD;
Did end up buying a shirt at R&W. It was so cute I had to have it. ;_; It's a kinda pastel lilacy-pink and had a giant bow on the top left. Or top right. ...I don't remember. Anyway. Very cute bow. And it was only $15 too. :D
Ended up getting a sundress at last. From... Jean Machine, unexpected. There was a pretty, pretty dress I wanted. Was a soft cream colour with pink and red roses on it, but it was a bit small. D: Couldn't zip it up. Wouldn't fit over boobs, again. They had a larger one, but only in black, with... I think blue and yellow tinted roses instead. It was still really pretty, but I liked the cream one more. ;_; But they didn't have it my size... Both Eilia and the salesperson thought the black one was nice / better, so I ended up getting that. For $50. Ouch. >.>;; But it is really pretty! But I think I do want to buy some cream with roses patterned fabric now and make something. Not the same style, though.
And then we went to look for sandals for Eilia, but couldn't find any. They were all too expensive, too. D: The only pair she remotely wanted was like... $130 or something? D: So we'll probably try P-Mall instead next time.
And on the way home, I finally got some lactose meds. They're supposed to be taken before eating dairy products, so, oops, not exactly my emergency medication for after I accidentally eat some. XD; I don't need to be eating them all the time, I think, but might be helpful to carry around for going to parties and restaurants and such, if most of the foods have milk products in it. Which they usually do. Like cheese. ;_; I love cheese...
Also, speaking of purchases, a few days ago I finally went and got Tales of the Abyss. The 3DS one. Finally. XD;; Kinda caved. It is going to be my birthday present from grandma. Hurrah. I can't wait to play it again. I actually remember everything that happened, but... not the order, somehow... XD; But anyway. GOING TO COSPLAY NATALIA AGAIN THIS YEAR! :DD I should still have the wig around, and I've already bought the fabric for it a couple years back, so. Will make it properly this time around.
Anyway. Unrelated stuff. Dani recently showed me a comm for long hair. I'm trying to take care of mine better now, and treat it less harshly and stuff. I also followed a link in a comment somewhere to a cutecute site full of the most adorable hairstyles, and now I really want to grow mine out even more so I can try them. XD
Although... uh. Might be a little hard. Considering I won't be able to see anything I'm doing, and I'll be working behind my head. But we'll see. Thiefie dexterity go! At the same time, that's partially why I want to. Most of the ones I want to try are really complicated-looking braids, which seem really... fun. To make, I mean. And then I can be all LALALA LOOKIT WHAT I DID and stuff. XD;
What I did manage to do was the Katniss braid! It's surprisingly simple, but actually took me a lot of tries to get right. Basically, what it is is a Dutch braid (basically like... reversed French braid, where the braid is on the outside and you bring hair in from uunder, not over) at an angle. But it took me a few tries to get the height and angle right, because even though the stylist said she started it right behind her ear, in the pictures, the starting point looked much higher. And then I discovered that, no, that's just because... that's how braids were? Kinda? So starting at the ear exactly would bring it up to around where it should be. And then the angle was weird, because I kept having it being too... vertical?
And then I had hair sticking out weirdly towards the end of the braid, and I finally figured out it was because I didn't gather the hair up early enough. But gathering it all too early would make the braid too... popping out? Well, like, would make it not lie flat against the neck, so you had to basically get all the hair into the braid right at the end of the hairline.
And plus, it had to be both very tight and very... loose-and-messy-looking. The second of which I didn't bother with. Couldn't get it tight enough, though.
This whole thing would be so much easier doing it on someone else, because then it'd be easier to see the angle instead of trying to judge it by feel, and I'd be able to pull it tight enough because my hands wouldn't be held in awkward angles. But ah well. It was fun.
AUGH I AM SO GIRLY NOW. It's okay. I still play games and beat people up, so it's all good.
