A Post About Stuff

I always forget to post... Okay so.

So suddenly I don't really have a job anymore. I still kinda do, but. Uh. So like, last Tuesday, the owner told me to just come one day this week. Yeah, sudden. I was worried I was doing something wrong, but both accountants told me they cut everyone's hours because it's a slow time right now, plus the other owner didn't want so many full-time staff in the office. I panicked briefly, but I think I'll be okay for now. They said I can have more shifts at the store location, and I've asked the manager there, and he's going to put me for around 20 hours every week, which, combined with one day at the office, should be fine.

On the other job... The game store hasn't called by Tuesday, so I called them on Wednesday to ask what was happening. I was getting worried it meant they didn't want me after all, but they did say I passed the interview, so the call was to schedule another one, not to tell me whether or not I passed. Anyway, yeah, so I asked, and they told me basically they were really busy trying to figure out what to do with the new staff. Which was like... shouldn't they have figured it out beforehand? >.>; But ah well. They said they'd call me back on Thursday, but they didn't, but Friday while I was showering (of course, it couldn't have happened during any other time XD;;), the assistant manager called and left a message saying basically that a few of their people who were planning to leave are staying a little longer than expected, so the hiring is a little delayed, and they'll call me in a week or two, and I'm still their top contender. So I guess it should be fine.

And once I have both jobs, I should be okay for money. I'm more worried about having too many hours, but I don't think that should be a problem. I'd be just starting one, so probably wouldn't get that much, and then the other person at the store said she wanted more now that her classes were over, so I'm sure we can balance it? Probably.

Now, speaking of store... Sunday was weird. It was really slow, but it was weird. Particularly, this one person... seemed normal at first. Was an old-ish guy, probably like... late 40s or 50s or I don't know I can't tell age. Anyway, he kept playing with a fart machine we have. Which... okay, sure, not everyone needs to be super-mature. XD; And then he left, but later he came back and kept playing with it. Which wasn't weird yet, but. On his way out the second time, he triggered these... demo toys we have. They're motion-sensored plushes, and they laugh and move when something passes in front of them. Again, seemingly normal, he passed his hand in front of them a few times. so, okay.

...And then he BIT one. Not just like a tiny nibble. Full-out leaned down, CHOMPED onto it, shook it around a little like a dog, and then dropped it back onto its table. And then left.

I just... stared. I don't even...

Anyway, later on, I broke the door, and then I fixed it but wasn't sure if I did, and then I went to the washroom and the toilet sounded like an elephant, and then I started wondering if I was going crazy, but I don't think I am yet?

Meanwhile, I've been playing a lot of Tales of the Abyss. Got the 3DS version, finally. I've really missed it. Natalia is totally not as stellar as I remembered, though, and I kind of wonder if I'm doing something wrong. >.>; Although I'm still maining her anyway. I might need to change the button setup around. Am not liking Y for guard and L for free run. I never remember either one. Pretty sure I switched it to R for guard even for ToS before. That might help...

I totally did not know treasures grew on trees. Or maybe I did before and then completely forgot. My first playthrough was done in one week, and I rushed through it all and never slept so it kind of all ran together in my head.

I'm also sympathizing with Luke more this time, especially after discussing with Kukkis. I still don't like him that much, but I really don't dislike him anymore, and he really is actually very kind. Just... childish and stupid. But given his backstory, it's really to be expected.

Also I was very confused at the menu when I first started the game. XD The menu bar is on the left, you see. I got so used to it being on the right all the time for FFs...

I've also been playing a lot of FF14. Jami and I accidentally managed to make two friends, almost one right after another.

One of them was around our level, and pretty much doing the same things as us but by himself, so we teamed up with him. He's new, but he's an ex-FF11 player, so he's picking things up way faster than most of the others, and he's literate. :D Plus he's from the same nation as us and all (well, not quite yet, but he's joining ours), so we can group together for nation quests. ...which Jami and I are done with except a scary Garuda fight, but still! XD There will be more in the future, and this way also we can help him with his. Plus he's a really good tank! I think he mained paladin in 11. (Not that Jami isn't a good tank, per se. But Jami and I play by ourselves, so we tend to be more... hybrid? If we purely tanked and healed, we'd never get anything done because of the lack of damage... XD;)

The other one we met the night after, also in kind of the same circumstances. She also joined us for a group thingie, and then right towards the end, I said something in English in the chat and she started talking to us. XD She was already lv 50, but she was fighting to get this other thingie. Anyway, she's really cool, and really strong, and really helpful, and also from our nation. Tonight, we (Jami, new friend #1, and I) joined a pickup group for a dungeon that I need a chest in, and they totally failed, and then she decided to do it with just the four of us, and we did it better than the whole party of 8. >.>;;; (Although that's not saying much, I guess, because this party really, really sucked. Their tank didn't even wait for buffs before running off, and then whined for buffs while he was being smacked by things, and uh, well, dude, it's your own fault. I can't cast while moving.) Anyway, there was another quest I needed, and we could do it with 4 but we'd need a healer, but I had to be on Monk for that quest, and I was our healer, and... uh. Well. She told me we'll have a healer by tomorrow night. And I'm kind of wondering if she's crazy enough to level her Conjurer/White Mage up in one day. XD;;;

But anyway, it's a lot more fun and productive with these new friends. :D There were battles we couldn't beat with just Jami and me that we managed not too badly with just one more person. Plus there are some dungeons and battles that require 4 people to enter, and now we have 4. :D And also nf#1 says he's got his roommate, also an ex-FF11 player, to play soon too, so, hurrah for expanding friends groups, and this way we'd only need to find a maximum of 3 random people for quests that need 8. And the less randoms, the less chances for error.

I'd better step up my game for healer, though. I'm much better in 11. :\ Maybe if/when I have a chance tomorrow, I'll go rearrange the UI and my abilities... I've thus far left the UI mostly in the default position, because it was fine for a normal melee, but it's really a strain to track HP for healing. I think partially because the chatbox is on the left of the screen and the party HP bars all the way on the right, and the screen is widescreen... Anyway, will do something about that soon.

And lastly, I've been playing a... a dating sim? XD;; Jami read about it somewhere. It's... created by 4chan. XD And it's about disabled girls. It's actually really good. The graphics are beautiful, and the stories for all the girls are interesting. Well, interesting according to Jami, I've only barely started one of them. The only thing that bothers me is the main character. He's kinda... I wouldn't say stupid, but... thick? There are a few facepalm moments. Plus his internal monologue is a little too dramatic to the point of stupid, but that mostly makes me snicker. XD;;

And... uh. That's it for recent stuff. I think. I might be forgetting.
