I think the point in having Rory in that situation and pregnant means that the baby will fix Rory's life, as Rory fixed Lorelai's... That was supposed to be the end YEARS ago, when the show ended... But they never got to that! I think it's cute... it's full circle... But a little bit too much.... Rory and Logan are the same as Lorelai and Christopher, and Jess is Rory's Luke in the end... Basically the story will start again and it will follow Lorelai's path...

I agree with you about Sookie...

Also Jess had to be at the wedding... WTF?

I have no background on the show, so maybe it could have been better years ago if they had finished it like this, but now it doesn't feel right.

The problem about your theory is that I don't think the baby fixed Lorelai's life: the proof it that she's still a mess 30 years later. Having a great good thing in your life doesn't mean that the rest of it sorts itself out automatically.

I get the full circle: that's the beauty of this ending. But I don't see it as the best ending by far.

And I can see the similarities between Logan and Chris, and Luke and Jess. But in this case Rory and Logan can decide, they are not 18 anymore. Plus, right now, she's in love with Logan. Maybe in 20 years she'll be back in love with Jess, but that's another story.

And I agree, the wedding people was totally random: if they were going to bring Lane and not Emily or Jess, they might as well have brought Kirk.

I don't know. I am trying to come to terms with this year and I'm having some difficulties. Excuse me. Hehe.

I see that erychan86 already mentioned the fact that this was how the show was supposed to end originally...except when she was 22. The originally writers weren't part of the final season, and the new writers went in a different direction.

I had a lot of the same feels as you. And I think Emily's story line might have been my favourite...especially right at the end when she's sitting outside of her new house.

I love Emily in her new home and with her new job. <3 =)

Having in mind what you say, I have a couple of things to say:

1. That was such a terrible ending before! For Rory to be pregnant at 22. Idk, maybe they could have sold it to me, but at this point I can't imagine how the writers came to that idea.

2. Bad idea to stick with your ending after all this time, no matter what happened. That's just stubborn.

3. For Rory to be surprisingly pregnant at 32 with her life being a mess is not much more better, it could work (maybe even better than before) but not the way it was done: "I'm pregnant!" and BOOM "The end". If you are trying to give a decent ending to your lifetime achievement you don't write a cliffhanger at the end!

It's a shame this chance was wasted because it seems like it was done with so little love. And I am sure it wasn't! But I guess after so many years it was hard to go back to that place.

I think they wanted to make it full circle, that Rory ended up the same way that Lorelei did...and she turned out okay (for the most part) haha

I'm hoping there is another season, but I'm not sure if there will be, if the writers did want to originally end it like this.

I don't think there is any possibility of a new season, because:(a) this was the ending Amy wanted (b) it would have needed to be an amazing success to bring it back a second time. So I wouldn't be expecting anything else. But there's always fanfic!

I get the full circle. And that can be nice, but I just don't think it's for every story (and I don't think this one needed that).
