I watched these movies recently and I need to find someone who understands the genius in them! I know they are bad copies of Indiana Jones, but BUT I enjoy them so much!! The first movie also reminded me of Romancing the Stone, a movie I used to LOVE when I was a child ( Read more... )

I actually watched the pilot of the series a while ago, thinking it'd be good fun in a crappy-show sort of way, but it was just, well, crap. I wasn't gonna bother with the films after that (I thought they came after the show, so was gonna watch them in order), but you've convinced me to give them a shot now! (For Stana, if nothing else, haha.)

Stana's is film #3, so you could even just watch that one. I'd recommend film #1 too at least, though (it's where you get introduced to the world and it may be the best one).

I haven't seen the films, but I picked up the TV show - the pilot is kind of bad, but I liked it a lot afterwards. Of course, if your favourite characters aren't in, that would make a difference. I've found it a lot of fun, with some really nifty world-building. And Jenkins, who also gets introduced in the pilot, is a character who has a really nifty reveal and is wonderful. But then I find Flynn kind of annoying, so perhaps I'm no guide!

I must get hold of the films some time, though. :-)

Flynn is not a great main character, so I understand. I did not like Jenkins at all, though, it has nothing to do with the prior old man (he was the best) and he even looks like a villain but without charisma.

I didn't think anything of Jenkins at all in the pilot, either, but as it goes on, he becomes so much more and it's great. But it's a very silly show! I just like it anyway. :-)

That's strange because I find the TV show much better than the movies.

How much of the show have you watched?

I've seen everything. Though, like the person above, I've never been a fan of Flynn, so I can't guarantee the show will work for you.

I used to love Romancing the Stone!! Most people seem to have never heard of it! And the sequel...The Jewel of the Nile :)

Good to know about the show, tho I think I'll check out the movies :)

There's a sequel??? I'm not sure if I ever got to watch it, I don't remember anything about it. Maybe I did, but since I watched these a long time ago my memories are full of holes.

I loved it as a kid: I still remember the glorious ending with the boat. :) I'm looking for it as soon as I get home!!
