I found you in the Longhair community! (in case you didn't know. :P)

I need to update a lot of my profile, as it seems we have a lot in common (and I started my journal and created my profile when I was like 17, and I'm now turning 23. :P)

This was posted in 2010?! WTF?? O_O_O

Hi there! I'm glad you friended me, though I must apologize in advance for my ridiculously boring journal. And I did recognize you from longhair-- how could I forget that post?! Those Fejd men are gorgeous, especially the two in the front of the pic. (I'm also obsessed with Vikings, and pretty much everything Norse-related, if you hadn't guessed!) I've been meaning to check out Fejd's music, too. *googling them now, in fact!*

And much as I'd like to admit to time-traveling abilities, I just set the year on this post to 2010 so it'd stay at the top of my journal! :D

OH!! How clever! (about the time thing).

Yeah I'm pretty much obsessed with everything Norse and Celtic as well. I will not be able to die happy until I have my own Viking -- a real one. :P

...So I'm listening to "Arv" on their myspace page, and it's AWESOME. I don't know which one is the lead singer, but his voice is beautiful. There's something very medieval about the tone, which I love, of course!

And I have to throw out a recommendation now: have you ever listened to anything by Kerstin Blodig? I think she might actually be German, but she incorporates a lot of Norwegian myths and folktales into her songs (which are very folky, in case you don't like that--) and I just love her.

*will stop nattering at you now!*

Hi!
Though my lj is totally in russian, i'd love to have at look your journal. I found you through an interest "odysseus" when surfing on lj search, so i liked your interest list, your userpics and particularly the motivation for choosing your user-name. So i'll be really pleased if you add me as a friend.
Some information about me:
Simon, Moscow, Russia
Education: classical philology
jobs: teacher, interpretor (en-ru)

Hi there! Thank you for the comment, and sorry I hadn't added you before -- my locked posts tend to be mostly rambling instances of whiny woe-is-me stuff, and I'd rather not subject complete strangers to that. (Actually, I'd rather not subject ANYONE to that, but hey, this is LJ! What else is it good for? *g*)

And I've happily added you, though I'm afraid you'll find my journal quite boring now that you have access to all of it!

On the subject of Odysseus-interest, I really recommend Eric Shanower's Age of Bronze graphic novel series. Odysseus is featured quite a bit, and the amount of detail and characterization that goes into the story as a whole is just amazing.

Hi again!
I'm very glad to be added into your friends-list))
Well, having looked through your posts I must say I got even more enthusiastic about them than just about the fact of being added. (Pardon my English))
First, this lj-"whiny woe-is-me stuff" is on of the things I really like about lj.
Second, well, you know, it is all in English, so I've got a great chance to enrich my vocabulary and all that)) If you don't mind)) Anyway this is inevitable)))
I don't think I'm going to comment you very often: that's very typical of me - just to read with no comments. And this does not mean at all that I don't like or am not interested in what I'm reading.

Thank you for the reference to the Age of Bronze. I must definitely find and see it.

Your English is excellent, so you don't have to apologize! I imagine that this would be a great way to enrich your vocabulary. I'm not fluent in anything but English, unfortunately. The lack of emphasis on learning another language is something I regret about my own education (and America's educational system as a whole). Of course, I can't entirely blame this on my schools, as I did take lessons in Russian, briefly, as a child... and then later, had Spanish courses in high school and college. I just didn't/don't have the self-discipline to follow through on the basics I learned.

Anyway, I'm really impressed with your fluency! And please feel free to comment whenever you like. Though I do understand about reading-with-no-commenting -- I do a lot of that myself!
