Waiting for B to get home from work...
coloring my hair.
I lost 10 pounds!
That's my update.
Oh....and catering is fucking expensive. Anyone who's planned a wedding, some advice would be nice.

I'm planning one. My mother is doing most of the cooking as a wedding gift and the pig we're having is being cooked by my future brother in law. So I guess that's not really helpful, after all. Um...

What are you planning to do, menu-wise? Figure that out first and go from there.

I am able to knock out food for almost 100 in my kitchen, and keep the prices down by careful planning. I don't suggest that you try this if you don't really love cooking, because even if you do, you will hate it by the time the day is done.

What you can do is consider what dishes you may be able to provide yourself, and have the caterer make the ones that are more trouble.

Thanks! I figured I could bang out a few food items, and leave the rest to the pros.

An important thing to remember is that this is not a template wedding, but your wedding. Not only can you have it your way, but you should: it makes the day mean more to everyone the more of your personal stamp you put on it. This means that if you wanted to serve beef jerky and pop rocks then beef jerky and pop rocks it should be.

If you want to go all out of course then you should do that too. I know now from planning two of them :-) that there's an awful lot to consider about people's tastes, what kind of day you want to have, etc. Just make sure you remember that you aren't locked into anything. It's your day: anything you can think of is automatically valid.

yeah...and it's a gonna be a cheap special day. I was thinking of the possability of doing finger foods, as the time gets closer....we'll see.

you never responded to my myspace mail, so i'm not sure what kind of wedding you're having, but there's this great place in wexford that had loads of options.

Semi-traditional, but no Jeebusy stuff. I'd feel so uncomfortable if Jeebus was involved because he and I don't get along.

And I have to keep in mind a VERY strict budget.(You guessed it I'm paying all by myself. Since B has to get a downpayment on the house.)

I'll run through all the usual motions, but there will be FLAIR dammit.

Skip the Limo and see if you have a friend who is a decent enough photographer to take your pics.

Photographer is done...yes a few friends. Videographer as well. And not to be missed, we should have several limos at the wedding along with the usual ambulances and hearses. B and I are using the hearse. The wedding party will get a limo and an ambulance hopefully. Everyone else has to fend for themselves....AHAHAHAHHA!
