No candidate will ever admit to being a moral relativist...it equates to "bad" with way too many people. And honestly, I don't think it's even a real issue in our political discourse. I doubt many (if any) serious candidates are true relativists. I think what it really comes down to is whether or not "I found this thing in the Bible" is a sufficient reason to make a law, and whether or not trying to understand the actions of a group of people within the context of systems constitutes "excusing" their actions and diminishing human freedom.
I do think our national discourse should address these fundamental issues head-on though, instead of just repeating talking points. It could get interesting really fast. I wish we could just lock candidates in a room and have them argue with each other...debates don't quite cut it.
