i've lost much of my ability to post long form; when i do so, its been Facebook, tho i'd do Tumblr for less 'acceptable' content. Truly, though the web is changed; self blogging in general has few visible venues, and closed communities are now the norm. it makes me sad indeed, and i wish i had some better option to offer...

I think we all got sucked in by the idea that you're supposed to post to an audience of thousands, where what it seems we're really wired for is a regular community of ~20 people, with ~100 who drop by from time to time.

But re LJ, I'm just waiting for the day they shut me down completely.

I'm still writing regularly and have had no issue with the site.

its fine for that, but there is no security (don't use this password anywhere else), and any and all lgbt content you post will be screened as mature by default. Selective censorship is not a good thing to have over your head in any case...
