Lol, well, damn- they should have just said Rosie was from Oahu. More believable than Iowa, in my opinion. My favorite hotel in Waikiki has to be the Hale Koa. So lovely- I would actaully love to live there, lol- much better than ANY Hilton, which sad to say, I had my prom in a crappy Hilton.
Yeah, it really just depends on you school. A lot of high schools have homecoming dances around the time of the homecoming game, which in my case, the game was more entertaining than the actual game, and I'm a baseball fan. In my school, they were so afraid of getting tattled on by some lurking parent for playing suggestive songs, that every tune was edited and placed on a cycle... not many songs to choose from.
And as for prom... it was just prom for all classmen. They didn't care as long as you paid. I didn't like that idea because prom used to be 'special' because you had to wait till you were a Junior or Senior, and now "What? Now everyone gets to go???" lol
My high school never had a Homecoming Dance, but we had the Homecoming game so... (and I repress all of the horrible memories from my high school days so I have no idea what time of year that was, sorry)
No way, I had my prom in Waikiki too! At The Moana Hotel...I guess Kailua high had it's perks :p
I almost went to Sacred Hearts...then my mother threw a fit because she wanted me to grad from her high school...thus I was stuck in Kailua...bleh.
Yeah, we were the "surfriders" so we HAD to pay the extra cash for the Moana...Sr. prom was the only one I went to though...and I was a freshmen at the time lol.
