[Beyond The Rift] [Regrettably Open for Secrets Week]

Dec 13, 2011 22:14

A few days after I got to Chicago I had an argument with myself. I got rather upset and...

I turned into a cat.

I didn't leave my room and fell asleep. When I woke up I was me again.

Is this... normal in Chicago?

You had an argument with yourself?

It's pretty normal.

I mean, the Rift changes you when you fall through it if you're a wanderer. It can give you the ability to shift into an animal, but when you first have the ability, you can shift into an animal by having strong emotions.

I, ah...yes.

That is interesting. Thank you. I'll keep that in mind.

I don't know that anything is all that normal in Chicago, but!

Sounds like you're a shapeshifter, dude.

Wonderful. Something else to adapt to, here.

Perfectly normal.

But yes, as others have said, it looks like the Rift's made you a Shapeshifter.

Usually the transformation's started with negative stimuli. So, getting highly stressed and upset is usually going to make you a... cat.

Until you learn to control it.

Thank you. That's important to know.

I suppose the good news is that there is a way to control it.

No problem.

I suggest asking around. Post a locked journal to all shapeshifters in Chicago.

Perhaps, some of the more experienced ones, might have some helpful ideas about controlling the shift.

That is an excellent idea. I might do just that.

I suppose I can only hope someone will.
