Wow, you're going back to work really fast. I hope your milk comes in more!

Unfortunately, since I changed jobs during the pregnancy, I don't have a lot of paid leave time saved up. I'm just glad that things worked out for this much paid time off, and baby's allowed at the job here and there if needed.

We're a small office in a converted house, so I have my choice of my own bathroom (each of us has our own bathroom) or the back room. Currently the backroom is a storeroom but we are going to be converting it to an employee room (couch, radio, etc) when I get back, and since I'm most often the only one there, I won't even have to post a note on the door when I'm pumping in there most of the time.

I've got a Medela Pump-in-Style, which is supposed to be the best double electric pump on the market. The nice part is that I have two so I won't have to carry the pump back and forth from home every day.

If we ever get one of us snipped we've already decided it's going to be the hubby.
I'm really surprised they did all that heart stuff, heart murmurs are a normal finding in newborns. (not that they all have them ut the frequently do and it's rarely a problem)

If I hadn't been having a c-section anyway, we'd have opted for hubby ourselves, but since I figured they were in there already, they could just snip-snip. We've even discussed maybe going ahead with the snip for him too, when we can afford the deductible and suchlike on his insurance later on.

I guess on the heart they were being extra careful because they felt it sounded too loud to be the regular murmur they normally hear. The pediatrician said her anatomy just had the vein closer to the surface than they normally find.

YAY for babies! jenjiyana May 11 2007, 14:21:23 UTC
The only two "scary" parts were getting sick and throwing up the stuff they made me drink to neutralize the acid in my stomach prior to surgery and then the actual move from table to bed for transport (I'm terrified of falling - and that was a freaky sensation with my spinal keeping me numb).

This happened to me also! (also I think my doctor mentioned that they cut a lot lower these days than before. Im glad it wasnt bad for you!).

Im glad to see both of you are doing so well! I went back to work today and brought my huge double pump with me. Im just going to keep it at work I guess. I agree though - every bit of breastmilk is good for her but sometimes a little supplementation is needed.

She is just absolutely adorable!!! *squeee*
