wah *sleeps on desk*

Bah. Copier repairman is taking FOREVER to install the new part that had to be special ordered. Since no one else is in the office, I can't go pump. *grumbles* Now I miss my temp, who got a full time job and had to leave earlier than the extra 2-3 weeks she was going to stay past my maternity leave.

Baby had a "throw up on Mommy" night. I let Bear sleep because she's been having that sort of day on him lately. It's not a regular throw up... but definately more than your average spit up... and lots of bellyaches. Pediatrician's office said to try gripe water, which is damn near impossible to get here locally, and the only pharmacy that carried it closed before Bear could get there yesterday. We've been cutting back her bottlefeeds to 2oz instead of 3oz because of the spitups (a trick we learned with Justin's serious reflux), but that means she's hungry more often.

My IBS has flared big time over the last 2-3 days. It was dormant for the most part when I was pregnant, came back with a vengence for a week or so about 2 weeks postpartum, then went away. I just put 2+2 together and figured out why the IBS probably died down. DUH. I was taking a medication (Reglan) to increase my breastmilk supply that is normally prescribed for stomach issues like nausea. I didn't have any of the usual side effects people dislike on the Reglan (including depression), although obviously my dose was lower than the usual. May have to talk to the PCP doc about a prescription for controlling flares, as the other meds I've tried in the past had side effects worse than the flares. Domperidone is also on the IBS list, and also a galactogogue with fewer side effects than Reglan but harder to obtain even by prescription. Haven't even seen the new PCP yet (haven't been sick enough to need anyone but my OB since I switched insurances) but my chiropractor's office was very complimentary of her.

Speaking of the chiropractor, I've gotten my back seriously out of alignment, so after suffering from serious back spasms for a bit, I gave in and found a chiropractor. He's just 2 blocks from work, which is good, and is also a board certified orthopedic doctor, so I get both sides of the fence. I've got a serious lumbar misalignment combined with a pelvic misalignment, obviously most likely due to being pregnant and her weight carrying more on one side of my body. Should be done with the treatments and adjustments by mid-June. I tell you, the pain was *worse* than having the c-section recovery. Doc asked me why I'd chosen chiro rather than seeing my PCP and I said because she'd give me muscle relaxers and pain pills, not FIX the problem. Besides, most of the treatments my PCP could give wouldn't be breastfeeding friendly.

Breastfeeding is going okay. I'm still not up to snuff on supply, but I have had some better pumping sessions (nearly fell over in shock getting 5oz in the morning session 2 days in a row) and have some regular 2.5-3oz sessions now. Maybe that's a sign of progress.

Pumping at work's not as great as I'd like it, as room I pump in has to be accessed through another room that is currently being used as a conference room (until our remodel moves the conf room across the hallway at least). Boss has developed a bad habit of working in there and closing the door, which isn't terrible if I know ahead of time she is going to do it and can bring my pump back to my desk (and use the "library" room outside her regular office), but she often doesn't tell me. Plus being in the office alone is an issue because neither boss nor coworker bother to come in before noon most days. Argh. I need to buy the battery pack for my pump, as I couldn't use a bathroom here to pump because the only outlet is in the light fixture and the pump plugin is way too heavy for that.

Finished Reglan and Fenugreek with no measurable success. I think the increased water intake is what has helped my milk supply. 10oz every hour while awake. I pee every hour like a preggy woman again, but if it gives baby milk, why not? I am trying Mother's Milk tea just to see if it helps, although I've been reading that for some women it is more of a supply maintainer and not a booster. I still haven't located any Blessed Thistle, although if this tea helps, I'll order some of the tea online (much cheaper there) and find some blessed thistle too to try. I bought the tea at GNC. Not only was the box marked more expensive than their website ($1 more), the price on the box was wrong and it cost me $1 more than *that*. Bear pointed out the problem and the girl got all snotty. Chalk up GNC for as bad customer service as Wild Oats. No wonder folks around here don't go for the health nut stuff when the stores are as helpful as rocks. The tea does taste good at least.

Got a letter from Mamaw (who won't "use up my cell phone minutes" stubborn lady). She had a rough week last week due to her 54th anniversary passing. It also seems that two of her nieces lost husbands in the time since Papaw passed away. I worry about her down there with just Mom now, but people from her church and her extended family (she's the baby of 9 with hordes of grown nieces, nephews, etc) have been making sure that she's got a visitor at least every other day. She mentioned she's got to start remembering to call Lenae by her name instead of "The Baby" because the cousins are getting huffy that Lenae's not the only baby arriving this year. I need to send her another round of pictures - probably next payday or so - when I can buy more ink for the printer.

Yay - repairs are done and I can go pump at last... TTFN.
