Who Ordered a Teenager???!!!??

Nov 21, 2007 10:18

Today, Jason (aka J1) is thirteen years old.  While he has his bratty teenager moments, I have to say that he is a really good kid overall.  Helpful with his sister (if a bit bullying to his brother) and mostly trying to listen to our requests to show more responsibility if he wants to be treated like a teenager instead of a kid.   I've been rather ( Read more... )

Could the cat be sick? Sometimes they act out when they are sick. All in all, strange.

Sounds like you've got a good kid on your hands! But that doesn't surprise me. Look at his Mom :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours :)

As far as I can tell, she's not ill. If it was diarhea, I'd understand her not making the litter box. But this is normal poop. Her litter box deposits are normal, with no changes of note (J1 scoops/changes it and likes to tell me all about it... silly boy).

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

well happy bday to J1!

Perhaps the cat is sick as suggested above or maybe she just wants more attention? It might not be a break in routine that's annoying her but less attention (if indeed she's getting less attention)?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

As far as I can tell, she's not sick. Normal poo/pee. She's just being ornery.

She gets the same amount of attention she's always gotten (despite being my cat, she rarely has anything to do with me, preferring Bear). She'll only get in my lap if Bear is beside me, and then only to use me as a pathway to Bear.

If it had started after Bear started working (instead of about a month ago), I'd attribute it to that, since she's so strongly attached to him.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

My husband mashes his potatoes with an electric mixer and whips them up... maybe you could try that instead!

Welcome to the Mothers Of Teenage Boys club!

I've noticed that every time my cat(s) don't use the litter box, there's something wrong- either a urinary or gastric problem. One time, it was an inflamed anal gland on one cat, and another time it was a urinary infection with the other.

Cats hide illness well- she might have gotten something out of the trash that has made her ill, and that's the result.

Please get her looked at- she might be ill, and trying her best to get your attention.

Congrats on having a teenager! (I have a teenage cat!)

I was about to say the same thing. She could be sick. Cats don't always act sluggish when they're sick. Her pee and poop could look normal, but she could be acting out because of a urinary tract infection or something else that isn't visible to the naked eye.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I always hesitate to mention pet misbehavior, because when I do, there's always someone who insists I don't know what I'm doing. *sighs ( ... )

I didn't know you were a farm girl, and I didn't know you had cats before. I was just trying to help.
