So tonight

I look out the window in class when I am bored.  Most of the time I don't ever really see what's out there; in fact, I'm barely aware that there is an "out there" at all.  The problem is the "in here."  It's so up to its own business that it forgets that there was once a time, when I was a kid, that inspecting the shape of a radio tower was as ( Read more... )

I totally know what you're talking about...and I think I had the same realization when I was your age as you are now! Weird! Since then, I have done much better with taking the time to notice things...and now it happens without me even realizing it. It's always when I'm riding the bus, looking out the window, or driving, or just being outside. I noticed it doesn't happen too much when indoors, but I think that's cause outside things inspire me more or something.

One of the things I love the most is to watch tree branches/leaves sway back and forth in the wind...it is the quickest way to calm me!

Wait, but that is how I often see things now...like the trees in the loop; I think one of the most amazing things is looking up at the sky through them (especially in the spring time when there is a green veil over everything). It seems to be a portal to another land... :) but then, I guess there are times when I don't see that-if I am on a hurry to class or thinking of something else. One of my favorite things to do is to take walks for that very reason. You slow down and are just at peace with the world and who you are. These are the times when I feel closest to God. It is in like in Anne of Green Gables when she says, "If I wanted to really pray I would go out into the middle of a field, look at the sky and just feel a prayer," or something like that...
I think I have strayed from the original point. Oh well. :)
