New Addiction

Well haven't posted in awhile real life has been a bit crazy.  Last week at work I was running the book fair.  It wasn't as successful as last years but we did manage to make some money for the school library which I get to spend :) which is great.  But I found a new addiction at the book fair.  I know most of you hear have already read the Twiligh ( Read more... )

I love Twilight. In fact, less than 5 mins ago I just finished it for the third or fourth time! I'm a bit rough on the books, but it's pretty obvious that Bella and Edward will get their happy ending. I kind of hope they don't..it would be more bittersweet, not so predictable, by that's just me.

Its funny casue I wonder if Edwards happy ending is the same as Bellas. I know he really wants to be with her but I think he wants her human more. Me, I'm not to sure what I want. I am looking at the story from a 40 year old perspective and while I want to jump Edward Cullen's bones I think Bella is giving up a lot when she decided to give up her humanity.

Woohoo! Glad you liked them so much!

I'm reading Twilight for the fourth time and then I'll read Eclipse again. Like you I'm not big on New Moon, Jacob just rubs me the wrong way, and he made matters worse with the way he handle things with Bella in Eclipse! I also don't like the fact that Edward actually left, I believe there may have been crying involved.

Breaking Dawn, has to involve Bella being turned and her and Edward getting their happy ending, fingers crossed. I'm also hoping Jacob will imprint on someone, preferably Leah, they deserve each other. And I need more of Emmett in the next one, he's just the big brother that everyone wants.

While Jacob got on my nerves at times, I think I am going to do a reread of New Moon to give him a fair shot. All I keep thinking is that he really is an inexperienced kid in a much more mature body in love with a girl who is in love with someone else and he doesn't know how to deal. Forget all the supernatural stuff thrown in there. I think Bella is more at fault for Jacobs behavior then Jake is. And Jake can't compete with Edward he has a hundred years of experience to become the man he is. I do want Jake to imprint with someone in Breaking Dawn but definately not Leah he does deserve a bit better. ;)

I think he knew exactly what he was doing.

And in all fairness, Edward may have nearly 100 years on Jake but its not as if he has that much experience with girls. He admited that in Eclipse, he wasn't kidding when he said he was kind of protecting his own virtue as well as doing things for Bella's safety.

And I'm not sure how Jacob's behaviour is Bella's fault, she spent most of her time telling him that she wasn't interested in him like that. Most blokes would get the hint and back off, Jake was just pissed that he was losing her to a vampire, his overgrown ego obviously couldn't handle that.

Sorry, I'm not normally a Jacob basher, he has qualities I like, really he does, but the bad just out ways the good for me. :S

I just got into Twilight as well and am almost finished Eclipse, happy to find someone above the age of 15 who enjoys them as well ( ... )

I like Jake also. He is immature and behaves badly BUT he is not even 17 yet. We forget becasue Edward while "17" really has had way way more time to become the 'man' he is. Jake is also in the body of a man already. I don't know about you but I don't know any 6'7 16 year olds. Though I would love to meet anyone 6'7 and good looking, cause I definatley think Jake is cute.
I am not sure if I think Bella should be changed. I am not saying she isn't in love with Edward and all that but I agree with Edward, Jake, and Roselie. There is no going back and there are experiences in life that shouldn't be missed. Maybe she doesn't want children but she never even really considered it. Me personally I would miss the sleeping lol.
I think she should wait a couple of years before she makes the change. I don't understand her rush. See but that is the wisdom of age which she doesn't have.

I also agree that the books are no the greatest in quaility of writing. Its a fun story to read though.

The points you make about relative age and perspectives are good ones. I am also unsure about Bella being turned, it would not seem like a very happy ending for her, would it? I really do not know how it will turn out for this reason. I think they have to be together (the author has made the point that they literally can not live without each other quite clear), yet turning Bella does not seem like a great solution. I do hope the fourth book moves beyond the love triangle (which I think it will) and that Jacob gets a nice wolf-girl of his own ;)

I feel like the only person who hasn't read Twilight! It's on my to-do list...

Glad to hear you're doing well, but busy. ::hugs::
