I'm thinking of writing a college essay based on the topic of pirates vs ninjas. possible diretions I could take the paper are discussing which is cooler, who would beat whom in a fight, or maybe even who I would rather have as a friend and why. I'm trying to come up with a list of pros and cons. Right now I have:

They're outcasts of society. Ninjas because they kill in shady ways, and pirates because...well they rape, kill, and plunder. Pirates wear awesome hats, and other clothes. They're in it for the booty(take it as you will), and ninjas are in it to serve their master and get paid. Ninjas are silent, while pirates will let you know they're in town. Both are fairly badass. Hope this helps.

but they would get depressed cuz they couldnt tell others who they are...

pirates have parrots, booty, and treasure. ninjas can fly. pirates curse funny like, while ninjas just cannot makes sounds. pirates often have fancy clothe, but its usually dirty. ninjas ...have cool shoes.

it depends on what type of pirate and what type of ninja you look at.

theres the gentlemanly pirate, drunk off his ass pirate, totally evil pirate, one eye'd pirate etc.
theres the rogue ninja that everyone is hunting, the standard assassin ninja, the ninjas posing as a government official, the ninja that works for the betterment of society (think asian robin hood).
