In which I am waaaaaayyyy too far out there

On Friday I got out of the car in one parking lot while our friend C_____ got into her car, so I yelled about four versions of her name (that I couldn't quite remember), and she recognized me.  Quickly and chirpily we chatted about her cancer (across her waist) and my cancer (in my brain), and were amazed at the same treatment we were getting from ( Read more... )

It's all about the spoons.

Ranj said to me tonight "It's probably good that I don't have many friends left. I don't do well around large groups of people."

What to say, what to say.

Hang in there--we're all behind you. And your hats. *hugs*

Wow, you know your mailman?

Reading about your experience is making me think of some family members of mine who have gone through cancer. Most recently, my uncle is just getting to the end of treatment for tongue cancer. I'm stymied about why people develop some of these types of cancer. My uncle never smoked, so that's out. Why the tongue? Why the brain? Why the liver? After hearing about my uncle's experience (very bad nausea, outrageously expensive anti-nausea meds, temporary loss of hearing in the higher registers. . .) I wonder if my other family members had downplayed their experience to make me feel less alarmed. When my father went through chemo, he seemed to have no side effects at all except tiredness.

I hope you're doing well.

I like hats.

I have no idea who my mailman is, or whether or not he even has children. In fact, he might be a woman. . .
