Just me rambling.

Yesterday, I decided to finally give in to temptation and buy Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for PSP. I'd been looking into it and Brave Story: New Traveler for awhile and decided that I'd had a good semester, I'd worked very hard, and I'd saved up a ton of money (currently have over $500 in the bank, with a $400 check for working the ( Read more... )

So is War of the Lions a remake of the original FFT? (Which I have always wanted to play.)

Pretty much, yeah. They re-did the translation and added a couple of new characters and classes which weren't in the original. :o

It is indeed.

Two new classes were added, the dialog was redone, and some new features and quests were added.

~*rubs*~ if thou doth get a DS, I order thee to buy Front Mission DS. Now THAT is how a remake should be done, it's worth playan for the UCS campaign alone. :D :D :D

What's so new about Front Mission on the DS?

I've played a little Front Mission DS got till after the mission you save Peewee (the one your first see Driscoll again) and the game is okay.

I feel I've been doing something incredibly wrong though. You know that girl that challenges you in the Arena to show you where Karen is? It took my 5 tries until I just barely beat her.

Not quite sure I understand what you dislike about the game other than the translation differences. Is there something else about it that's giving you "mixed feelings" on the game? Because what you wrote sounds like you like 90% and dislike 10%, so to speak....

The translation seems off. I guess I'm so used to the way the game was done before. It doesn't take anything away from the game, which is important I guess. But it doesn't feel the same.

(Augh, how'd I miss this entry? D:)

FFT's one of those games I can never get tired of playing. So naturally I'm loving the PSP remake. 8D The name changes took me some getting used to, but otherwise I like it. Comparing it to the old translation, the new translation makes some things that were more obscure in the old translation clearer. I personally think the pseudo-medieval dialect they put in fits, even if it was kind of strange at first.

And wow, man, that IS a steal. A new DS alone usually costs more than $120. O_O

Probably the fact that you're not used to me posting.

I'm warming up to SOME of the names. I think Izlude > Isilud. And Funeral > Funebris. Amongst other names.
