They have done that shit forever. When my ex wife worked at hot topic as a researcher/buyer/manager, part of the job was to hunt down things that people where doing DIY and try to get it back to have it mass marketed.

They've been busted multiple times for copying artwork for stickers and tee's. Most of the time, they just pull the item when called on it, and never compensate to original artist.
